ABC Tree Service was founded in 1975. Mr. Bill Floyd of Hixson purchased the company in 1980 and operated it until his passing in 1997. He built it into Chattanooga's largest and most respected tree care company by offering quality service at a competitive price. Since 1997, Mr. Floyd's family continued to successfully operate ABC Tree Service with qualified arborist/managers. They decided to sell the company and since the first of 2006, ABC Tree Service LLC has been the passion of its two owners, Milan "Milo" Melton and Carl Absher. We are strongly committed to offering the best tree care in the area and we believe that we have a team of arborists that are unequaled in the area to meet that goal.

Milan Melton is the Sales Representative and Manager of the company, and a Certified Arborist. He has been in arboriculture and customer service since 1994 in Chattanooga and Nashville. He has earned a local reputation as being one of the most technically skilled and productive arborists in Chattanooga. Milo is the primary responder to customer requests. You will find him to be knowledgeable, friendly, and responsive to your needs.

Benjamin "BJ" Absher is the company's Operations Foreman. He has been climbing trees with ropes since the tender age of twelve and has been a professional arborist for six years. He is an ISA Certified Arborist (# SO-4241). BJ is a highly skilled climber and is regular contestant in the International Tree Climbing Championship. He was the Overall Champion of the Southern Chapter in 2006. BJ promises that he and his crews will deliver the best tree service that you can buy at any price.

Carl Absher is the diagnostician and consultant for the company. He has been involved with arboriculture since 1970. In fact, he worked as a “tree man” to work his way through forestry school at Virginia Tech. He is a licensed and certified pesticide applicator and he has been an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist since 1994. He is one of only two people in Tennessee to have achieved the prestigious Board Certified Master Arborist designation from ISA. Carl has been recognized with professional awards from both the ISA and the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council. He is available for all of your tree diagnosis and consulting needs.
